Junior membership also extends to the families through the club's 'Associate Family Membership'. Families and carers are integrated into the club whether they play golf or not are very welcome to join in all club activities.
Boys and girls participate on an equal basis and are offered coaching and playing opportunities whether for fun or competitive. Our juniors play the game according to three levels of ability:
Beginners – play the short course from the “black” junior tees and flag 50 challenges.
Developers – play the full adult course and can gain a club handicap starting at 54.
Proficient – play the full adult course having gained a CONGU handicap of below 36 for girls and 28 for boys. These players are welcomed by the club to take part in adult competitions on an equal basis.

Learning to Play
For details of lessons with our preferred PGA Professional Richard Lawrence please refer to the Golf Lessons link on the menu. The club also supports the development of it's juniors in partnership with The Golf Foundation.
Opportunities to Play Golf
The junior section most commonly gets together as a group and plays on Sunday afternoons. This is both for competitions and also to have friendly games. Juniors are welcome to play the course at any time just like adult members for social golf. Activities take place throughout the year with a greater quantity between April and September.
In addition the club encourages juniors to take part in events run at other clubs such as Open competitions (some clubs offer beginners events too) and also county/ representative level. A number of our juniors have enjoyed success at representative level.
